The Orb , a Mediterranean river in Languedoc , has its source in the Escandorgue mountains, at Mont Bouviala (Aveyron), in the commune of Clapier.
This river runs for 136 km, but only 35 km are navigable. The Orb reaches Béziers where it crosses the Canal du Midi and flows into the Mediterranean Sea at the seaside resort of Valras-Plage.
TheOrb is the most playful of the Languedoc rivers.
It is also the first river to be classified with the "Clean River" label.

TheOrb is the only Mediterranean river to offer 2 and 3 day canoe or kayak trips.
The hikes offered by Canoë Roquebrun take place in the Haut Languedoc Regional Natural Park, which ensures a wild and preserved nature in terms of both fauna and flora.
Canoe trips are therefore structured and basic but natural facilities are provided in specific bivouac areas for those who prefer the wilder side of holidays…
For those who love a hot shower, there's also the option of camping or renting a bed and breakfast for added comfort. The region has plenty of options, and the Tourist Office can provide information on the various holiday accommodations available.
Canoe Roquebrun is organized to give you maximum flexibility and safety. Your car is always at your overnight campsite. This means no overloading of the canoes, and you can always move around if you run out of butter in the morning!
Canoe Roquebrun offers two routes of 2 or 3 days
Day 1 : le Poujol to Tarassac
Day 2 : Tarassac to Roquebrun .
This hike takes place upstream from Roquebrun over two days and covers 26 km.
The organization is the same as for the two days.
- Day 1 : le Poujol to Tarassac
- Day 2 : Tarassac to Roquebrun .
- Day 3 : Roquebrun to Cessenon .
The hikes depart in the morning. After checking in at the Roquebruncanoe base reception, we will take you to the starting point of the route. Your car will follow the shuttle and be left on the trail, at the bivouac site.
On the second day you arrive in Roquebrun in the late afternoon and we take you back up to collect your vehicle.
For a pleasant holiday, don't overload the canoes, leave the excess in the cars with the tents and sleeping bags and above all remember to bring drinking water.

Your rental base on theOrb : Canoë Roquebrun
“Canoe Roquebrun ”, the canoe, kayak and paddle base is located at the entrance to the town of Roquebrun , just before the bridge on the left, on the road to Laroque.
This small family business has been based in this small village since 1986. It has a body of water that theOrb has kindly spread out at the foot of the village.
Take a break at la guinguette
There is also la guinguette canoe " where young and old gourmands can enjoy an ice cream or eat a tray of delicious fries while sipping a fruit juice or a half-pint.
Its terrace overlooking the Orb offers breathtaking views of the bridge and the village, and from your seat, you can watch vacationers arrive by canoe, kayak, and paddleboard at the rental center.
This snack bar is open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. After that time, a restaurant is available until 10:00 PM.
